thank you so much Dave.
I am so devestated. I never thought I could cry like this over a dog. But he was family.

He was amazing. I wish everyone could of known him.

i thought the hardest part was going to be letting him go, but the hardest part so far for our family is living without him. Every nook and cranny in our home reminds us of him.

One of the reasons we bought the home we live in is b/c of the yard. We thought of how wonderful it would be to watch our Dakota and Jeter run and play. Watching Dakota run was nothing short of amazing. There is no other dog in the world like him.

My poor Dakota. I loved him so.

We had a little Schnauzer/Yorkie mix named Isabel. A girl friend of my youngest son abandoned her at our house. My wife and that dog bonded immediately. She lived with us 14 years. She finally got liver and kidney disease and we had to let her go. It was almost like losing a child.

We have another dog now named Cindy. Only God knows how many breeds are mixed up in her but she is sweet. She will never take the place of Isabel. That dog was truly one in a million.

Great post Dave, and I am so sorry Ellie. Dogs have a special place in my heart also!
